One type of energy drink I haven’t quite tackled yet is the “energy shot”. They’ve gotten quite popular in the past few years, with 5 Hour Energy being the top choice. Personally, I’ve never been all that interested in energy shots, as I always believed drinking more liquid gave you a subconscious additional mental boost of energy. Does that make sense? Anyways, it’s time for me to begin my journey into energy shots with RedLine Xtreme Triple Berry. Is it as good as its name is long? Let’s find out.
How Does It Look?
Of all the drinks I’ve reviewed so far, RedLine is the first to be plastic instead of aluminum. Just thought I’d mention that. RedLine is actually a fairly large plastic bottle, as it’s divided into two shots. Additionally, it has a resealable cap. On a practical level, I enjoy this, as you can take a few sips and seal it back up. On an aesthetic level, not too terribly much that stands out. While there’s some berries to represent the flavor, the rest of the bottle has a bit of a generic appearance.
How Does It Taste?
Overall, RedLine Xtreme’s Triple Berry had a decent flavor. While I’m not usually a fan of berry flavors in general, I find it worked with the overall “potency” of RedLine Xtreme. If it were a larger serving size, I may not have liked it as much. But, as you’re only supposed to drink one half at a time (I’ll get further into it later), I think it worked.
How’s The Energy?
Something that definitely stood out during my first time trying Redline Xtreme was the energy boost it gave me. Since I’m a “drink coffee all day” kind of person, I notice when there is a significant change in energy. And RedLine really showed me that, despite the fact you’re only supposed to drink half at a time, it’s the contents that matter more than the amount you drink. So I learned something today.
Do I Recommend It?
Overall, I had a pretty good experience my first time with RedLine Xtreme. While the appearance could use a bit of work, the berry taste was pretty decent. Additionally, the energy boost was quite significant. At least to the extent that I got everything done that I needed to. And, considering that doesn’t happen too terribly often, I’d say that’s one for the win column.
